Me: lacking in sleep ; busy but calm week ; still not shouting; reading night circus ; looking after slightly unwell guinea pigs, first bath
Evan : second week of guinea pig worksheets ; playing family games inc hungry hippos; speaking calmly and thoughtfully to autumn ; getting fed up in the car; realised needs more time working on core strength for gymnastics.
Autumn : last ever Bailey cox ballet class;
Yesterday we had a full on day, with swimming, library visit doing worksheets on Guinea pigs, highfields adventure playground, highfields library for craft and reading and street dance. The full on day was planned together with the children, so I went with it. We chatted at the end of the day, and they both said they were really tired. So we decided to take it easy today, and only go to dancing. However, we did end up going yo the walled garden with friends. Evan got to use his Christmas present of a fire bowl, and helped to build and keep the fire alive for the whole visit. It was great fun.
Me: non-stop activities, tidying, cooking, ferrying, reading and bedtime doing. Most notably finished a 500 page novel, after just 10 days of reading. Got to be a record for me. It was House rules, Jodi Picoult. Now I have begun, stuck between a rock and a hard place. 'gripping'!!! Began job application for alumni volunteer manager at university, but realised it was full time, so a no-go.
Pat: illness continues, stress and headaches prevail. New job application hopefully. More focus on saving money or making more.
Evan : stunning us with his drawing and writing. Fairly calm. Fewer incidents of a screaming nature. Massive den building.
Autumn : enjoying, through cover eyes, the Spiderwick chronicles. Achieved bridge unaided in Gymnastics with straight arms.
After seeing an advert for some Children's University activities, we decided to pop along. We enjoyed making playdough teeth; extracting DNA from a strawberry using washing up liquid and alcohol ; a spot of sweet chromatography ; and the piece de resistance was of course icing the biscuits. Loads of running round the winter gardens, and den / home making.
I the millennium galleries we explored the sound map of sheffield, which the children did spontaneous free form interpretive dance. Su and I were captivated until, they ran around the large room in a haphazard fashion, frightening the guide who poked us into leaving.
Lovely, lovely day. Thanks to everyone involved in these amazing experiences.
I have just read a lovely blog (will link later) which has a weekly snippets of their lives, to give an overview away from the special outings and other stuff like that. I realise that my blog is missing something without that, do very inspired, I'm doing a Sunday nugget.
Me: enjoying the harvest part of autumn in all its abundance. Apples, elderberries, blackberries galore.
Settling into our new home ed week, fine tuning activities.
Abundance at Zumba, and new project in the making of dance style workshops, dusting off my lesson plans. Glad strictly is back on.
Evan : stepped away from constantly making things... Having a chill out a bit at home. Enjoying outings, and the outdoors in general. Calmed down on the destruction of recent past, with extra supervision when with friends. Helping me to plan and organise autumn's birthday party, and presents. Loving origami, able to follow pictorial instructions.
Autumn : constant motion. New dance class. Enjoying strictly. Joyful, enthusiastic. Reading well on reading eggs. Doesn't like pippi longstocking. :( mostly played Tweak 'burny' and Cotton tail.
